CCUS
Launched in December 2019, Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage Trainings with the curriculum of the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies is dedicated to the advanced study and exploration of business models for deploying breakthrough low-carbon technologies that enable a smooth transition to a net-zero world. In particular, these technologies include carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) and carbon dioxide removal (CDR) solutions, both tech- and nature-based.
As part of the wider Energy Transition Research at WiSE UK, this training investigates key issues pertinent to the future development of these solutions, including enabling policy and regulatory frameworks, in the context of different sectors and regions. The Programme also investigates the role that carbon markets, both voluntary and compliance, play in mobilizing investments into these technologies. For a more in-depth description of the scope of this research, listen to this podcast

3 Key Things to Know About CCUS Training
Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage (CCUS) is a critical solution for addressing carbon emissions, and proper training in this field is essential for professionals working towards a sustainable future. Here are three important aspects of CCUS training:
- Understanding Core Technologies: Training provides a comprehensive overview of the key technologies involved in CCUS, including carbon capture methods, storage techniques, and utilisation opportunities. This ensures participants gain the technical knowledge necessary to implement these solutions effectively.
- Compliance and Policy Frameworks: As CCUS is a regulated field, training often covers relevant environmental policies, industry standards, and compliance requirements to ensure adherence to legal and ethical practices.
- Practical Applications and Case Studies: A hands-on approach is crucial in CCUS training. Practical sessions and real-world case studies help participants understand how to apply theoretical knowledge to real-life scenarios, driving impactful and measurable results.
CCUS training equips professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to tackle climate challenges and contribute to a greener future.
